The product keeps observation, inference and the user’s own meaning visibly separate.
The problem
Work and personal activity overlap across apps and calendars. The first question was whether observable phone signals could support a useful daily reflection without pretending to know everything a person did.
Choices in the implementation
- Bring activity into one chronological feed, with editable work/personal labels rather than separate, incomplete timelines.
- Make grouping and hidden items visible and reversible; let the user choose when their day starts.
- Explain optional permissions before asking for access, and distinguish recorded signals from inferred meaning.
